The Crown Inn has changed its name to
CROWN COTTAGE
Orcheston, Salisbury, Wiltshire. SP3 4RW
Crown Cottage is probably the friendliest guest accommodation
in Wiltshire. Your hosts, Maureen and Derek Harnett
will welcome you with tea or coffee in the garden or conservatory
or on colder days, before a log fire.
Crown Cottage is in the village of Orcheston, a small hamlet, nestling on Salisbury Plain. Maureen and Derek have been opening their delightful home to visitors from all corners of the globe for many years and are waiting to welcome you.
Guests are welcome to spend as much time as they like
relaxing in the well planned gardens which are a haven for wild life. The
hundreds
of birds which always seem to be present will happily sing to you. Regular
visitors to the gardens are hedgehogs, a sly old fox and squirrels. Much time
can be spent watching the inhabitants of the pond - goldfish, frogs, toads,
newts, dragon flies and much more. There is also one of the few remaining wells
in the area, probably dating back to the 16th century and still in remarkably
good condition.
Crown Cottage offers three rooms for guest accommodation., all individual but all with the comfort of guests in mind. The Rose Room, a room in which to spoil yourself. The Meadow Room, with a real cottage feel to it. Moonrakers’ Roost, a suite of rooms designed with the family in mind.
Crown Cottage is just 10 minutes from Stonehenge, 20 minutes from Salisbury and less than 1 hour from Southampton, Winchester, The New Forest,
Bath or Avebury which makes it a perfect base for discovering Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset or Avon.
